ZAMBIA TRIP - I am just returning from Zambia where our team of six had the opportunity to witness God at work. It is impossible to capture even a small part of what God did on the trip in this newsletter, but I'll share just a few highlights. Marci Bidlespach has included an insert to this newsletter with a look at the trip from her perspective. I hope you’ll take the time to read her thoughts. A more detailed presentation of the trip will be given on Sunday, July 27.
Here are some of the highlights:
1. State College Christian Church School for the Orphans. The children are learning to speak English. It was great to communicate with them without an interpreter. The children are learning, eating well, getting stronger, and have hope for the future. It was great to watch the excitement on their faces as they opened letters with pictures from their sponsors. Among many other things, we started a library for the school. It has opened up their world.
2. Becky Tirabassi spoke at two evening crusades in the compound where the children from our school live. There were well over 1,000 people in attendance on both evenings. Numerous people (we could not get an exact number, but the actual number would be well over 100) accepted Christ and made commitments to live pure lives. Local pastors are following up on the new believers and Burning Heart small group meetings are being started in the compound.
3. The two day marriage seminar renewed hope for many marriages. One man was quoted as saying, "Before the seminar, I planned on getting a divorce, but now my marriage has hope."
4. We connected with the founder of Northrise University (www.northriseuniversity.com). We hope to network with them in the future for greater Kingdom impact in Ndola.
There is so much more to share. I hope you'll join us for worship on Sunday, July 27, to learn more about the impact State College Christian Church is making in Ndola, Zambia. Thanks so much for all your prayers and financial support.

Small Groups are where we study God’s Word together and discuss the issues and challenges of life. It’s also where we pray, care for one another, and are missed if we don’t show up. New groups start the week of September 16. You can sign up on the flap or at the Welcome/Info
Center, and we’ll contact you to find the group that best meets your needs.

PRAYER MINISTRY - Each Sunday following the Worship Service there are two members of the Prayer Team in Room 207 to pray for those requesting prayer. The Prayer Team will also spend time praying for those on the Prayer List, our ministers and the elders.
If you, a relative, friend or neighbor need prayer, you may attend the weekly prayer time or you can e-mail Tom Templeton at cxt1@psu.edu or the church at sccc@statecollegechristianchurch.com.
If you would like to join the Prayer Team in praying for the needs mentioned above, you can show up in Room 207 any time or join the Team by contacting Tom Templeton.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
EIGHT REASONS TO JOIN A SMALL GROUP
1. You will understand the Bible better in a small group.
2. You will begin to really feel like a part of Gods family.
3. Prayer will become more meaningful to you.
4. You will be able to handle stress and pressure better.
5. You will have a natural way to share Christ with friends, relatives, and work associates.
6. You will develop leadership skills you never knew you had!
7. You will deepen your understanding of worship.
8. You will be a New Testament Christian!
The book of Acts is very clear about how God intends for His people to grow and have their needs met in the church. We will never be able to hire enough professional pastors to meet all the individual needs in our family. God never intended for it to be that way! Consider
these verses:
They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Every day they continued to meet together, they broke bread in their homes and ate together, and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:42, 44, 46 - 47
Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the Good News that Jesus is the Christ. Act 5:42
Greet also the church that meets at their house. Romans 16:5
If you are not participating in a group, why not make plans to join one by:
signing up on the flap of the bulletin
calling the church office at 238-5913 or
e-mailing the church office at info@scccweb.com
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
WORSHIP SERVICE DVDs - If you miss a Sunday or are interested in sharing a worship service with a friend, they are available on DVD in the church library located in the Annex. If you don't have a DVD player and would like a copy on VHS, we would be happy to get you a VHS copy. An audio version is available online at www.scccweb.com.
